募捐时间（Mù Juān Shí Jiān) is about a girl called 小珍珠 (Little Pearl) who heard the news that an earthquake had affected a village, and people had lost their homes. Realising this, she immediately made her own donation box (募捐箱）and went out to the city to ask for money for the children in the disaster area (灾区）. However, people ignored her and walked past her as though she was invisible.

Because she was upset, she accidentally wandered into a forest and met a group of animals – a giraffe, elephant, monkey, lion and pig, among others. I liked this part of the book because the author used 2 成语 （Chinese idioms) that I have noted down to use in my school essays in future. The author said “小珍珠垂头丧气地走着走着，不知不觉地走进了一座森林。一群动物好奇地看着他。”

垂头丧气 (Chuí Tóu Sàng Qì) – To hang your head in dismay

不知不觉 (Bù Zhī Bù Jué) – Unknowingly

I recommend this book because after she wandered into the forest, it gets more interesting and you will start to realise why the title of the book is 募捐时间. I’ll give you a hint. It’s connected to the animals.
