This month, NLB sent some very interesting books that got me learning about Greek gods and also about carnivorous plants. One of the Chinese books had pinyin too (最厉害的超人爸爸), and I was able to read it smoothly. I learnt some new vocabulary from the book. These are the books I received in March:
更大更大的锅 / Geng da geng da de guo
青蛙大侠江河湖 / Qing wa da xia jiang he hu
五百岁的”小学生” / Wu bai sui de “xiao xue sheng”
最厉害的超人爸爸 / Zui li hai de chao ren ba ba
The Secret Explorers and the plant poachers
Too much trash : how litter is hurting animals
I enjoyed Zeus, god of thunder most. The story is about Zeus when he was a child and I was able to read through the book in a day because it was quite thin. The Secret Explorers and the plant poachers took me and my sister longer because there were some hard words and it was a bit thicker. We could not read Mapmakers and the lost magic because the words were too small for us, so we gave up on it.
I am glad that the library sent Too Much Trash because my school teachers always talk about recycling and reducing waste. I enjoyed reading it. We recently did an art project on ocean waste. And tomorrow I’ll be going on a field trip to the Sustainable Singapore Gallery to learn about water conservation, sustainability and development. I am planning to bring the book along tomorrow to show my teachers.
